A ceremony celebrating academic achievements was held at Burdur Mehmet Akif Ersoy University. In addition to receiving academic titles and awards for outstanding performance, the university's national and international successes were also highlighted.
The Robing Ceremony and Academic Performance Awards Ceremony for faculty members who achieved academic advancement was held at the MAKÜ Conference and Exhibition Hall.
The ceremony began with a moment of silence and the singing of the National Anthem. This was followed by a music performance prepared by Ozan Demirtaş, a faculty member in the Department of Music Education at the Faculty of Education.
Today is the Pride Day of MAKÜ.
The opening speech of the program was delivered by Rector Prof. Dr. Hüseyin Dalgar, stating that Burdur Mehmet Akif Ersoy University is a large family with 1,180 academicians, 2,000 administrative staff, and 36,000 students, and also emphasized that our university is an institution that is considered the apple of the eye of all Burdur residents. Rector Dalgar congratulated the professors who received academic promotion and academic performance awards, and mentioned that the pride of MAKÜ was confirmed last week with the accreditation they received. He thanked everyone who contributed to the accreditation process. Rector Dalgar highlighted that their work continues with the idea of "From universal knowledge to social contribution" and emphasized that scientific publications should not be evaluated solely based on rankings and scores, as this is an incomplete perspective. He stated that science is a bridge for humanity, with discovery and solution being the two ends of the bridge. Rector Dalgar also provided information about the university's mission and vision in relation to the work carried out within the framework of the university's mission and vision. Following the speeches, an Academic Performance Award Ceremony was held for the academic staff who achieved academic progress. The ceremony aimed to encourage academic achievements within the university and honor outstanding scientific contributions. Academic performance certificates were presented to academicians who had published the most in international journals, secured international project funds for the country, achieved success in national projects, obtained patents as a result of academic discoveries, and received new academic titles. The certificates were presented by Burdur Governor Türker Öksüz, Burdur Members of Parliament Prof. Dr. Adem Korkmaz and İzzet Akbulut, Rector Prof. Dr. Hüseyin Dalgar, Chief Public Prosecutor Osman Kara, Justice Commission President Musa Talih, and Deputy Mayor Mustafa Bozkurt. The program continued with a robe-wearing ceremony, where the academicians were robed by Rector Dalgar and Vice-Rectors Prof. Dr. Ömer Tekşen, Prof. Dr. Hakan Öner, and Prof. Dr. Oğuz Gürsoy. The ceremony concluded with a cocktail reception.
