XVII. Laboratory Animal Use Certificate Course Successfully Completed

Burdur Mehmet Akif Ersoy University Local Animal Ethics Committee (MAKÜ-HADYEK) and Faculty of Veterinary Medicine, in collaboration, completed the XVII. Animal Use Certificate Course, which was held between April 27-May 05, 2024, with online theoretical classes and face-to-face practical classes.
MAKÜ-HADYEK President Prof. Dr. Özlem Özmen, stated that there was intense interest in the course, and a total of 75 hours of training were provided in the course attended by 80 researchers and students from many universities and institutions including Alanya Alaaddin Keykubat University, Süleyman Demirel University, Aydın Adnan Menderes University, Isparta University of Applied Sciences, and Private Veterinary Clinics. Prof. Dr. Özlem Özmen also reported that all participants successfully completed the course, and emphasized that students from MAKÜ Faculty of Veterinary Medicine and Faculty of Science showed great interest in the course, expressing satisfaction with the participation of students and highlighting the promising interest of young people in scientific research.
Prof. Dr. Özlem Özmen also mentioned that the course provided a platform for inter-university collaboration and projects, and that the Animal Research and Experimental Research Center provided opportunities for environmental university researchers and supported them.
Özmen added that being the only university in the region to regularly conduct training activities in this field has increased interest.
