Yapılış Tarihi | 31 July 2024, Wednesday
Burdur Mehmet Akif Ersoy University added another one to its social contribution mission activities. The Career Development Application and Research Center of Burdur Mehmet Akif Ersoy University and Burdur Provincial Directorate of National Education, in collaboration, made the My Choice is MAEU system available to all students who will make university preferences and high school guidance teachers who will provide counseling services during the preference period.
The Career Development and Monitoring System (KARGİS), developed by our university in 2019 with the aim of helping our university students to recognize themselves and create a career plan, was opened to high school students who took the Higher Education Institutions Exam (YKS) and will make university preferences under the name My Choice is MAEU this year. This system, where students can discover their personality, vocational interest and work value characteristics as a result of the inventories they fill out, also suggests professions where the student can be successful and happy in working life, considering these characteristics.
At the event organized by our university and the Provincial Directorate of National Education before YKS, the My Choice is MAEU system was introduced to guidance teachers serving in secondary education institutions in Burdur by Dr. Lecturer Veysel Dal and Career Development Application Research Center Deputy Director Lecturer Hüseyin Karaoğlu. Our guidance teachers, who stated that it is a nice development for such a system to be made available to all students free of charge, introduced the system to the students in their schools. The system, which has been used by more than 2600 students in total so far, will remain open until the end of the preference period.
During the 2024 university preference period, Assistant Lecturer Alp Yanık, Deputy Director of the Career Development Application and Research Center, provided information to guidance teachers and students about the My Choice is MAEU system during school visits.
