The Accreditation Evaluation Process for Vocational Schools at MAKÜ Has Started

A briefing meeting was held regarding the program accreditation process conducted by the Vocational Education Evaluation and Accreditation Association (MEDEK) within Burdur Mehmet Akif Ersoy University (MAKÜ). The meeting, held as part of the accreditation mobilization in Vocational Schools, was attended by MEDEK officials, MAKÜ Secretary General Ümit Yavuz, Vocational School (MYO) Directors, and Department Heads.

During the meeting, the studies to be conducted for evaluating the compliance of vocational school programs with established standards, quality criteria, and performance measures were discussed. MEDEK officials shared important details about the accreditation process through their presentations. They also provided information on the points to be considered regarding MEDEK Criteria.

MEDEK Has Started Evaluation Processes Across Turkey

MEDEK, which continues its accreditation efforts in vocational schools across Turkey, aims to enhance the quality of vocational education through this process. Emphasizing the importance of accreditation, MEDEK officials underlined that vocational education should be organized in accordance with the needs of the labor market. In this context, they stated that equipping students with qualifications and training graduates ready for the business world is a fundamental goal in vocational education.

The field evaluation studies conducted by MEDEK aim to test the compliance of university vocational school programs with national and international standards. This process will not only raise the educational quality of vocational schools but also provide students with a higher quality educational environment.

The involvement of Burdur Mehmet Akif Ersoy University in this process is considered an important step in enhancing the quality of vocational education both in the region and across the country.

Visit from MEDEK Members to Rector Dalgar

Following the meeting, officials from the Vocational Education Evaluation and Accreditation Association (MEDEK) visited Burdur Mehmet Akif Ersoy University Rector Prof. Dr. Hüseyin Dalgar in his office. Vice Rectors Prof. Dr. Oğuz Gürsoy, Prof. Dr. Ömer Tekşen, Rector Advisor Prof. Dr. Ali Murat Alparslan, Secretary General Ümit Yavuz, and MYO Directors were also present at the visit.

During the meeting, MEDEK officials informed Prof. Dr. Hüseyin Dalgar about the ongoing and planned accreditation studies in vocational schools. MEDEK members stated that they aim to contribute to the quality of vocational education across Turkey through the accreditation process and that an important process has been initiated at Burdur Mehmet Akif Ersoy University in this context. Rector Dalgar expressed that the university will provide the necessary support in this process and emphasized the importance of the work carried out by MEDEK.
