As part of the International Day of the Girl Child on October 11, a meaningful event was organized by Burdur Mehmet Akif Ersoy University (MAKÜ) Faculty of Education, Women's Issues Application and Research Center, and MAKÜ PDR Community. At the event, drama activities and workshops were held by bringing together girls from different age groups. Creative activities contributing to the social and emotional development of children were carried out in the events conducted by Faculty of Education Turkish Education Department Faculty Members Prof. Dr. Hülya Yazıcı and Dr. Faculty Member Demet Gül Çiçek. As part of the event, a music recital was presented by students of the Music Education Department.
In addition to the Dean of the Faculty of Education Prof. Dr. Firdevs Savi Çakar, Vice Deans Assoc. Dr. Hacer Tekerci, Assoc. Dr. Osman Erol, Faculty of Arts and Sciences Sociology Department Faculty Member Assoc. Dr. Canan Gönüllü, Head of Music Education Department Prof. Dr. Esra Dalkıran, Faculty of Education faculty members, representatives from public institutions, and many students attended the program. At the end of the event, it was emphasized that it is necessary for children all over the world to grow up with equal rights in a safe and fair world, and it was stated that it is important to hold more of such events.
