General Director of Youth Services Dr. Enes Efendioğlu met with students at MAKÜ

Rector Prof. Dr. Hüseyin Dalgar, university administration, and numerous student community representatives attended the program held at MAKÜ Genç Ofis. Before the program, Youth Services General Directorate Project Specialist Beyzanur Koyuncu gave an informative presentation to students about the operation and opportunities offered by UNİDES.

“There is no other country offering so many opportunities to its youth”

In the opening speech of the program, Rector Prof. Dr. Hüseyin Dalgar stated that the opportunities Turkey offers to its youth are remarkable on a global scale.

Rector Dalgar said, “Our Ministry of Youth and Sports has been taking very serious steps regarding university youth, especially in recent times. I have traveled to 25-30 countries so far; I can say with an open heart that I have not seen another country offering so many opportunities to its youth.”

Emphasizing that educational opportunities in Turkey are quite accessible for both local and foreign students, Dalgar said, “While studying at a university abroad costs around ten thousand dollars annually, this figure is at the level of one thousand dollars in our country. This is a concrete indicator of the value Turkey places on its youth.”

Rector Dalgar stated that as MAKÜ, they attach importance to the development of students not only academically but also with a sense of social contribution, saying, “Our goal is not just to train good engineers or lawyers; it is to train young people with high motivation for social contribution, who can produce solutions to the issues of humanity.”

Dalgar recalled that 250 projects applied to the “University Students Turkey General Social Contribution Project Competition” held last year, saying, “This interest revealed the productivity of our youth and their sensitivity to social issues. They developed very valuable ideas on topics such as sustainability, climate change, poverty, and hunger.”

Efendioğlu: “We are always by our youth's side”

Youth Services General Director Dr. Enes Efendioğlu stated in his speech that the UNİDES project was implemented to contribute to the personal development of young people, their volunteer activities, and their sense of social responsibility.

Efendioğlu said, “Thanks to this project, students will be able to spend their university years more actively, productively, and focused on social benefit. As the ministry, we are always by our youth's side. We would be pleased to hear about your new projects and to implement them together.”

The program concluded with answering students' questions and sharing the views of community representatives.

Inspected MAKÜ facilities

After the program, Dr. Enes Efendioğlu and the accompanying delegation inspected the MAKÜ Lavender Hill Hotel and the university's sports facilities, receiving information about the works.
