A 'Muhtarlar Akademisi' is being established in Burdur: A period of academic support for local administrations is beginning

Under the leadership of Burdur Governorship, a cooperation protocol was signed between Burdur Mehmet Akif Ersoy University (MAKÜ) and Burdur Central Neighborhood Mukhtars Association and Burdur Central Village Mukhtars Association.

The protocol, signed at a ceremony held at Lavanta Tepesi Hotel, aims to provide solutions from an academic perspective to the social, legal, psychological, health, and administrative issues faced by mukhtars.

The 'Mukhtars Academy' will support mukhtars in increasing their service quality, enabling them to offer faster, more accurate, and qualified services to citizens. Within the scope of the program, mukhtars will receive training in various fields from expert academicians, aiming to establish a knowledge-based approach in local administrations.

Officials from Burdur Governorship and MAKÜ emphasized that the project will strengthen democratic participation in local administrations and place mukhtar-citizen-state communication on more solid foundations.

With this initiative, Burdur has taken an important step towards becoming one of the pioneering provinces in Turkey providing academic support to the mukhtar institution.
