The exhibition where the map meets art opened its doors to art lovers at MAKÜ

Approximately the product of 15 years of accumulation and consisting of a total of 20 works, “Harita Bir Sergi” brings together a wide range of works with visitors, from tourism maps to game concepts, from historical themes to fantastic worlds. The presence of numerous graphic elements in each work highlights the visual diversity of the exhibition.

Burdur Mehmet Akif Ersoy University Faculty of Art and Design faculty member Assoc. Prof. Murat Kara, in his evaluation regarding the exhibition, drew attention to the diversity of works produced with different techniques and said:

“The exhibition includes many categories, from hotel layout plans to university campus maps, from thematic maps reflecting the historical and natural beauties of cities to illustrations of fantastic worlds.”

Kara stated that the maps were prepared with two main approaches, namely isometric perspective and bird's eye view, and expressed that each of the works was created in high resolution and by bringing together hundreds of illustrative elements.

Saying that the exhibition will remain open until the next event for students to benefit from, Kara said, “Our exhibition will be accessible to both our students and visitors who want to come from outside.”

The opening at the Faculty of Art and Design exhibition hall was attended by Vice Rector Prof. Dr. Ömer Tekşen, Rector Advisor Prof. Dr. Ali Murat Alparslan, Dean of the Faculty of Art and Design Prof. Dr. Serdar Tuna, along with many academicians and students.
