The 9th Mediterranean Informatics Summit, which brought together the technology and informatics ecosystem in Antalya, was held with wide participation at the Mimar Sinan Congress Center. Hosted by Antalya Teknokent and organized with the theme "Code the Future, Explore the Universe," the summit was attended by Burdur Mehmet Akif Ersoy University (MAKÜ) Rector Prof. Dr. Hüseyin Dalgar.

The event, considered one of Turkey's largest informatics summits, brought together students studying in the field of informatics, relevant academic units of universities, informatics organizations, professionals, and sector employees under one roof. Representatives from institutions such as the Antalya Governorship, Akdeniz University, KOSGEB, Provincial Police Department, Presidency Investment and Finance Office, Antalya Chamber of Commerce and Industry (ATSO), Antalya Union of Tradesmen and Craftsmen Chambers (AESOB), Western Mediterranean Development Agency (BAKA), and Antalya Teknokent were also present at the summit.

Rector Prof. Dr. Hüseyin Dalgar followed the opening program and the subsequent sessions, gaining insights into current trends in the informatics sector, artificial intelligence applications, and innovative initiatives. Dalgar met with university students, informatics companies, and public representatives within the scope of the summit to evaluate opportunities for university-sector collaboration.

In the opening speeches, it was emphasized that artificial intelligence is not only the transformative power of the future but also of the current era. It was stated that while artificial intelligence technologies will transform some professions, they will also create new job areas, and the most important actors to correctly interpret this great transformation are the youth. It was mentioned that such summits provide young people with the opportunity to share the same environment with technology leaders, thereby giving them morale and motivation.

The speeches also highlighted the decisive role of value-added production in increasing per capita national income. It was emphasized that with the steps Turkey will take in technology, informatics, and artificial intelligence, it can become a global player in many sectors, especially in the defense industry. In this context, it was stated that the Mediterranean Informatics Summit will make significant contributions to both the regional economy and Turkey's technology vision.

In his evaluation after the program, Rector Dalgar stated that universities should be natural stakeholders in such gatherings and that university-technopark-sector collaborations are of great importance to enhance the competencies of young people in the fields of artificial intelligence and informatics. Dalgar noted that the digitalization and innovative education practices carried out at MAKÜ align with this vision and that students will be encouraged to actively participate in such summits.
