Burdur Mehmet Akif Ersoy University Social Contribution Coordination, Burdur Development Center and International Office collaborated on the "Cultural Ambassador Project" where students who received training were awarded their certificates.

International students who came from different countries to study in Burdur had the opportunity to closely learn about Turkish culture by participating in various activities such as museum tours, village school visits, nursing home events, and cultural gatherings throughout the project.

The certificate ceremony of the program was held on the university campus. At the ceremony, the certificates were presented to the students by Burdur Mehmet Akif Ersoy University Rector Prof. Dr. Hüseyin Dalgar.

Speaking on behalf of the team conducting the project, Social Contribution Coordinator Lecturer Bilgehan Bilge shared his feelings and thoughts about the project, expressing their desire to set aside the concept of foreign students and strengthen the sense of brotherhood. Bilge stated that the visits made during the project allowed students to directly experience both Turkish hospitality and cultural values.

Rector Prof. Dr. Hüseyin Dalgar, speaking at the ceremony, emphasized that universities must now act with an international vision, highlighting Burdur Mehmet Akif Ersoy University's determined progress in this direction. Referring to the increase in the number of international students, Dalgar said, "We are advancing Burdur Mehmet Akif Ersoy University with determined and confident steps towards becoming an international university. Our number of international students is increasing every day. Today, we host nearly 1,600 students from approximately 40 different countries at our university. Compared to last year, this year we have seen an increase of over 100% in the number of international students enrolling at our university for the first time. Hopefully, we aim to maintain this growth momentum next year as well. We see our students not as foreigners but as a part of our university and our country," he said. Dalgar also expressed his belief that international students will strengthen relations between countries through academic and social ties.

Following the speeches, Said Rafizade from Azerbaijan, on behalf of the Cultural Ambassador students, shared the experiences they had during the project and those beautiful moments left from their projects, thanking everyone who contributed to the program.

The ceremony concluded with the awarding of certificates to the cultural ambassadors.
