At the Turkish Universities Promotion Fair held in Kazakhstan's Almaty city, Burdur Mehmet Akif Ersoy University (MAKÜ) encountered intense interest from international participants. The event, organized by EKET Fuarcılık on April 11, 2026, brought together numerous universities from Turkey and the Turkish Republic of Northern Cyprus.

The opening of the fair was conducted by the Consul General of the Republic of Turkey in Almaty, Tuğba Alan Özdenfedakar, and the event was attended by education and trade attachés as well as academic representatives. Representing MAKÜ, Vice Rector Prof. Dr. Oğuz Gürsoy, Rector Advisor Prof. Dr. Dursun Köse, and International Relations Coordinator Prof. Dr. Ömer Gürkan Dilek participated in the fair.

The undergraduate and postgraduate education opportunities offered by the university attracted significant interest, especially from international students. Visitors had the opportunity to meet with officials at the MAKÜ stand and obtain detailed information about the education programs.

Another noteworthy aspect of the fair was the university's international student satisfaction. Participants who showed great interest in the quality undergraduate and postgraduate education opportunities offered by MAKÜ had the chance to meet directly with university representatives. The positive feedback from Kenessarin Kaiyrbek, a graduate student from the Faculty of Economics and Administrative Sciences, Assylhanov Toleube, a graduate student from TÖMER, and Inna Abrayev, the parent of Erturul Abrayev, a student continuing his education at MAKÜ TÖMER in the Faculty of Dentistry, once again highlighted the university's global education quality.

Officials stated that the contacts made during the fair would increase MAKÜ's recognition in Kazakhstan and pave the way for new academic collaborations. It is expected that participation in such organizations will continue in line with the university's internationalization goals in the upcoming period.
