MAKÜ participated in higher education promotion activities in Germany

The Turkish Universities Promotion Fair was held in Cologne

The Turkish Universities Promotion Fair, organized to increase the international recognition of Turkish higher education institutions, promote educational opportunities in Turkey to students living abroad, and facilitate direct communication between universities and prospective students, was held in the city of Cologne, Germany.

The opening of the fair, which was attended by a total of 23 Turkish universities, was made by the Consul General of the Republic of Turkey in Cologne, Hüseyin Kantem Al. The program addressed the importance of the internationalization of higher education and Turkey's developments in the field of education.

MAKÜ was represented at the fair by Rector Advisor Dr. Faculty Member Veysel Dal and International Relations Coordinator Assoc. Prof. Dr. Ömer Gürkan Dilek. Visitors at the university stand were provided with information about academic programs, research infrastructure, international exchange opportunities, campus life, and social facilities offered to students.

During the meetings held with students, comprehensive information was provided about application processes, scholarship opportunities, and career prospects, while potential collaborations with various educational institutions and civil society representatives were also evaluated.

University education in Turkey was explained in Aachen and Duisburg

The MAKÜ delegation also participated in the program titled “Global Trends in Higher Education and University Education in Turkey” held in Aachen and Duisburg as part of the Germany program.

The event, hosted by the Education Attaché of the Turkish Consulate General in Cologne, was held at the DİTİB Yunus Emre Mosque in Aachen, where current developments in higher education, global education trends, and the opportunities offered by universities in Turkey were discussed.

After the opening speech by Education Attaché Dr. Muhterem Dilbirliği, MAKÜ International Relations Coordinator Assoc. Prof. Dr. Ömer Gürkan Dilek and Director of the Institute of Social Sciences and Rector Advisor Dr. Faculty Member Veysel Dal made presentations.

The presentations shared Turkey's developments in higher education, the academic and social opportunities offered to international students, and MAKÜ's education, research, and internationalization activities with the participants. At the end of the program, students and their families had the opportunity to receive direct information about the topics they were curious about.

A courtesy visit to the DİTİB General Center

As part of their activities in Germany, the MAKÜ delegation also visited the General Center of the Turkish Islamic Union (DİTİB) located in Cologne.

International Relations Coordinator Assoc. Prof. Dr. Ömer Gürkan Dilek and Director of the Institute of Social Sciences and Rector Advisor Dr. Faculty Member Veysel Dal met with DİTİB Secretary General Eyüp Kalyoncu.

During the meeting, the evaluation of university education in Turkey, the internationalization of higher education, the access opportunities of Turkish youth living abroad to universities in Turkey, and academic collaboration opportunities were discussed.

During the visit, which took place in a friendly atmosphere, the importance of developing joint projects in the field of education and enabling Turkish youth living in Europe to access more information about higher education institutions in Turkey was emphasized.

The fair held in Germany, the information program, and institutional visits contributed to the international promotion activities of Burdur Mehmet Akif Ersoy University while also laying the groundwork for establishing new communication and collaboration bridges between universities and Turkish youth living in Europe.
