Burdur Mehmet Akif Ersoy University (MAKÜ) Bucak Emin Gülmez Technical Sciences Vocational School hosted a meaningful project that brought students' artistic productions together with campus life. The event, titled “Touches that Add Value to the Campus,” showcased wall works prepared by students at a ceremony.
Under the leadership of the Design Department, students from the Graphic Design Program, Aslı Rabia Akbaş, Göksu Düzovalı, Buse Adlı, Elif Naz Altingeyik, and Efe Çağan Güler, redesigned the school's walls with original illustrations as an extracurricular activity throughout the spring semester. A short film of the resulting works was prepared by Animation Department student Müzeyyen Sude Kaya.
After long efforts, the walls in the school's entrance and common areas were adorned with colorful and eye-catching artworks reflecting the creativity of the students. The project included graphic works reflecting MAKÜ's corporate identity, as well as visuals promoting the vocational school programs and drawings featuring the National Poet Mehmet Akif Ersoy, after whom the university is named.
During the event, Rector Prof. Dr. Hüseyin Dalgar and Vocational School Director Dr. Faculty Member İlhan Uysal examined the works prepared and received information from the students and project team about the works. The creations presented by the students received great admiration from the participants, while also giving the campus a new aesthetic identity.
Officials emphasized that the project not only beautified physical spaces but also represented an important effort that strengthened students' sense of belonging and encouraged artistic production.
The project, which highlights the importance of social and cultural production alongside the educational activities of Bucak Emin Gülmez Technical Sciences Vocational School, aims to add lasting value to campus life while leaving an inspiring mark for future students who will choose the university. The university administration thanked the students, academic, and administrative staff who contributed to the project.
