Faculty of Education Department of Fine Arts Education Music Education and Visual Arts Education Main Science Branches Special Talent Exam Application Announcement (2026-2027 Academic Year)

Our University Faculty of Education Department of Fine Arts Education Music Education and Visual Arts Education Main Science Branches will accept students through the Special Talent Exam for the 2026-2027 Academic Year. It is required to have taken the 2026-YKS and to have a minimum Y-TYT score of 800,000th rank. (The success rank of the placement score without additional points is taken into account.)

Pre-registrations/Applications will be made electronically through our University Special Talent Exam System (oys.mehmetakif.edu.tr). 

Exam Locations and Times: 

For the Music Education Main Science Branch: Avşar Han Building, Music Education Main Science Branch, OZÜ Hall, İstiklal Campus.

Candidates must be present at 09:30 in the morning. 

For the Visual Arts Education Main Science Branch: MAKÜ Faculty of Education, B-Block, Ground Floor, İstiklal Campus.

Candidates must be present at 09:30 in the morning.

Special Talent Exam Results, 

Music Education Program: will be announced on Wednesday, August 26, 2026, at 19:00 from (sonuc.mehmetakif.edu.tr).

Visual Arts Education Program: will be announced on Wednesday, August 24, 2026, at 17:00 from (sonuc.mehmetakif.edu.tr).

* Disabled student quota

Candidates who win any of the Music Education or Visual Arts Education Main Science Branches as a primary or reserve must register on the specified dates. If the quota is not filled by the end of the primary registration date, reserve candidates will be called in order for the Music Teaching Program between September 3-4, 2026, and for the Visual Arts Teaching Program between August 30-31, 2026. Reserve candidates will lose their registration rights if they do not register within the 2 (Two) day period given for Music Education and Visual Arts Education. No further registrations will be made even if there are open quotas at the end of all reserve candidates' registrations. Candidates to be taken from the reserve quota will be announced on our Faculty's website (egitim.mehmetakif.edu.tr). Candidates must follow the announcements. Otherwise, they cannot claim any rights.

DOCUMENTS REQUIRED FOR FINAL REGISTRATION 

1- Internet Registration Output (Exam Entrance Document) 

2- Original and 1 photocopy of the identity card with T.C. identity number. 

3- Original and 1 photocopy of the 2026 TYT (Basic Proficiency Test) Exam Result Document (internet output.) 

4- 6 (six) photographs sized 4.5 x 6 cm (photograph showing the candidate's status in the last six months) 

5- Original of the High School Diploma (or notarized copy) and photocopy (Those whose diplomas have not yet been prepared or who have failed a single course exam will bring an official written document from their schools showing their status.) 

6- Candidates with disabilities (physical disability, visual impairment, hearing impairment, MR (mental retardation) and “pervasive developmental disorders” (autism spectrum disorders (ASD), Asperger syndrome, RETT syndrome, disintegrative disorders, pervasive developmental disorders in the unclassified group) with calculated TYT scores (those with a minimum rank of 800,000 in TYT for teaching programs) will be accepted to special talent exams provided they document their special conditions with a “disability health board report” to the relevant higher education institution. The scores of these candidates will be valid for 2 years including the year the exam is held and can be used in special talent exam applications. Candidates with the disabilities mentioned above, if they apply to programs that accept students through special talent exams, will have their TYT scores evaluated without being included in the evaluation (without using the formula in the Guide) and will be evaluated based on a separate talent exam result to be conducted among themselves, and the registrations of those who pass the talent exam will be made. 

7- Those with incomplete documents will not be registered definitively. 

8- There is no fee for the special talent exam. 

9- Candidates who do not bring the originals of these documents during final registration will not be registered, and in case of inconsistencies or fraud regarding the documents, legal action will be taken against the candidates.

10- All announcements and changes regarding the exams will be made online. Therefore, all announcements must be followed from our Faculty's website (egitim.mehmetakif.edu.tr).
