The quality assurance efforts of Burdur Mehmet Akif Ersoy University (MAKÜ) have once again successfully passed the evaluation of the Higher Education Quality Board (YÖKAK).

In 2023, MAKÜ was entitled to receive a 5-year full institutional accreditation under YÖKAK's Institutional Accreditation Program (KAP). The interim evaluation phase of the accreditation process, conducted in 2026, was also successfully completed.

With the decision made at the Board meeting of YÖKAK on August 20, 2026, it was decided that MAKÜ's full institutional accreditation would continue.

Comprehensive evaluation in four main areas

During the interim evaluation process, the university's quality assurance system and the efforts it undertook were comprehensively addressed. The evaluation focused on leadership, governance and quality, education and teaching, research and development, and social contribution.

It was stated that the result of the evaluation is an indicator of MAKÜ's efforts to spread its quality culture throughout its institutional processes, maintain a continuous improvement approach, and make its institutional development permanent.

Rector Dalgar: “We will continue to develop quality together”

MAKÜ Rector Prof. Dr. Hüseyin Dalgar stated that this result obtained in the university's quality journey is an important indicator of institutional development and the understanding of continuous improvement.

Rector Dalgar expressed that they will continue to further develop the student-centered education approach and to disseminate innovative practices in education and teaching, emphasizing that they will strengthen research and development capacity and continue to increase the university's social contribution.

Rector Prof. Dr. Hüseyin Dalgar thanked the administrators, academic and administrative staff, students, and all stakeholders who contributed to this important success, stating, “We see quality as one of the fundamental elements of sustainable institutional development, and we continue to develop and succeed together.”
