MAKÜ was in Ahlat: Future professions and career journey were discussed

Attending the program, Burdur Mehmet Akif Ersoy University Rector Prof. Dr. Hüseyin Dalgar, in his presentation, made comprehensive evaluations on future professions and skills. Rector Dalgar, drawing attention to the rapidly changing workforce dynamics in the world; emphasized that artificial intelligence, green transformation, cyber security, and data-driven fields will be decisive in the upcoming period. Highlighting that analytical thinking, technological literacy, resilience, an innovative perspective, and lifelong learning skills are critically important for young people, Dalgar concluded his speech with Akif’s principles of “acquiring a useful skill, striving/endeavoring, and progressing towards a noble purpose.”
Additionally, in the program, a presentation on the university's career development approach was made by Rector Advisor Prof. Dr. Ali Murat Alparslan. Prof. Dr. Alparslan, emphasizing that every individual carries different innate predispositions and a unique potential; stated that the important thing is not to evaluate young people with uniform molds, but to create the right environments where they can discover their own tendencies, talents, and “codes of the soul.” Emphasizing that the career journey begins with a person knowing themselves, Alparslan stated that the career system developed by the university comprehensively addresses young people's predispositions, tendencies, personality traits, and the recommended professional fields in this direction through comprehensive inventories. It was stated that this approach provides young people the opportunity to realize their potentials, direct themselves to the right fields, and consciously build their own development paths.
In line with the university's societal contribution approach, a proposal was shared to offer this career development service to approximately 100 successful high school students attending the program, aiming to support young people in discovering themselves at an early stage.
Within the scope of the program, Burdur Mehmet Akif Ersoy University Rector Prof. Dr. Hüseyin Dalgar and his accompanying delegation also visited Bitlis Eren University Rector Prof. Dr. Necmettin Elmastaş. During the visit, a sincere conversation and consultation were held on inter-university collaborations, youth studies, and the regional contribution role of higher education.
